Thanks to you all for your kind words of support. I visited Merrick today and was heartened to see him up and about. Hopefully he will get enough strength back so we can try to treat whatever it is he has. He deserves more time on this earth. But he is very ill. I can the signs so clearly now and just don't understand how I could have missed it before. I am still reeling from this news. I will send updates when I know more. Please keep the good will coming for Merrick. Who knows, maybe it helped him get strong enough to walk around today.

Glad to hear that Merrick has perked up a little. Don't you dare beat yourself up over this. When we think back in retrospect there are always little things that we should have noticed but didn't. I've been there and because it's only little things you don't think anything of it until it becomes a big thing. Just focus on the here and now and getting your boy home.
