Lola and Ty @ Home Depot Christmas Shopping

Sorry they are all cell phone photos, but we draw such a crowd when we are in Home Depot that walking the dogs,
pushing the basket and shopping already has our hands full. I hate to take the camera also.

I think of all the places we go, the Newfs enjoy Home Depot more than anywhere else.
They get so much attention from the employees and customers.

Jack went down a deserted aisle so we could snap a photo without a crowd :)

Lola wants Poinsettias
Ty is a typical guy...Don't need no stinkin' flowers

Lola in front of the Poinsettias alone
I think she is wondering what the deal is with BLUE Poinsettias??

Then Jack and Ty in the tool department

Sophie stayed at home because she is in heat..
She will have to do her Christmas shopping at a later date :)

At Petsmart there was a smooth dachshund just viciously growling at Ty. Everyone was laughing because Ty just stood there barely out of reach staring at it, not moving and not making a sound.
It was like he was thinking "I have the longhair version of this toy at home and it doesn't make this noise WTH??" He looked thoroughly confused by it's behavior.
The couple with the dachshund were probably 85 yrs old. So it's good they still get out and do things. The dachshund was a cutie, just needed to be taught some manners.
The lady at the kitty adoption table said Ty looked befuddled...he truly did :)

Never brought my guys to HD before, but they go to the local lumber yards & supply houses & they are more than welcome, if they do not come the service I get is not as good.

I was on the phone with my mom earlier and she was on her way to Lowes and had her dachshund Brandy with her because they had just been to agility class. She said she takes Brandy in both Home Depot and Lowes all the time. I have never tried taking mine into the Lowes here. A dachshund in a shopping cart is much less noticeable than two Newfs walking down the aisle. I think I will stick with Home Depot. The one here welcomes them with open arms. Employees flock over to pet them...
One employee petted Lola and said "I see you in here all the time pretty girl"...I didn't feel the need to burst her bubble and tell her it was Lola's first time there LOL

I have never taken Liz (or any dogs for that matter) to Home Depot or Lowes. Do they really welcome them, or is it a store by store kind of thing?

BTW, great pics!

It's on a store by store basis. I know several people across the country that take their dogs to Home Depot, but I also know several that have been told they can't. Our Home Depot welcomes them. It may be because it's next door to Petsmart and many people shop or train at Petsmart then go next door to HD.
There is a sign on the door that says No Dogs, it also says you must wear a shirt and shoes. When we turned around to leave the first time we were there, they ran out and got us. They said...that sign is from headquarters (standard issue)...you are welcome to bring your dogs inside.

We may have to try our HD. it's not right next to Petsmart but fairly close. We need more places to take Thunder, he doesn't get out enough..

we take Brinkley and Bryanna to Home Depot and to Lowes here at home. Brinkley always went with Randy to the Lowes in Pace FL and everyone loved seeing him, but the last time he went he was told that Brinkley could not enter, due to Florida FDA , seems they sell BAR-B-Q sauce in the Lowes, there so pets were not welcome. In the future he will shop at Home Depot , they apparently dont have a grocery isle !!!!

I don't know if you have Menards there, but here Menards won't allow them. They have a couple grocery aisles...so we shop at Home Depot :) If I need groceries I can go to the grocery store ;)

Thanks for the info! I'll give Home Depot a try first since they don't have a grocery isle! :) We don't have Menards here in NC, but I remember them from Chicago (save big money at menards!) LOL

We have a chain of farm supply type stores based in IL call Rural King. My understanding is corporate policy is to allow dogs. The State of Illinois has laws if you sell human food, no dogs. They sell human food like candy, cann goods and other non perishables. Best I can tell, it is not a enforced rule unless someone complains, and someone did in Macon County, so we can not bring dogs in anymore here. But Karen and I have taken Apache, Beau, Cole and Snuffles to the Rural King in Champagne, IL.

Funny though after the County Health Department started to get after Rural King here, the PetSmart who use to sell like pop and I think candy bars quit selling human food.

I have seen like a older lady carry her Foo-Foo type dog into the garden area of Lowes here. I do know a fellow who works that department, and when I asked, he said he would not run Snuffles out. Another lady in that Dept is also a Snuffle fan since she has seen him at PetSmart and in the Lowes parking lot, and has a extra large dog of her own.:)

Our Home Depot has a hot dog cart in the vestibule, but it's not owned by Home Depot and I wonder if it is "technically" in the store. We do walk quickly past it though. I sure don't want a Newf hair flying in their hot dogs LOL
Christine just told me Bed Bath and Beyond allows dogs. She said her store gives them a treat as they go in and as they checkout. I may try taking them there. If they drool...tons of towels everywhere. Although I am not sure they would appreciate me pulling a towel off the shelf, wiping Lola's mouth and putting it back..might be the LAST time we are allowed it there.
Ya, maybe that's a bad idea and I shouldn't do that LMAO
