Knitted sweater for a dog (NN)

In september I wisited a friend who lives in Germany and noticed that her 14 year old Jack Russel Terrier, Pia, was shivering every time we spent some time outside (the temperature was around 8°c). So when I got back home I decided to knit a sweater for the old lady and since I did not have the future owner by my side for measuring I had to use my cat, Púki, to try the sweater (Púki is a bit bigger that Pia :) ). The sweater turned out to be almost perfect for Pia but the next one will fit better.

Not too happy modeling for a small dog :)

Okay, the expressions on your cat's face are hilarious, BUT that sweater is GORGEOUS!

Thank you :0) - It was easy to dress Púki into the sweater but he refused to model for me - either tried to walk away or lay down to eat it :). I got Púki when Sámur the Newf was still alive and I believe Púki does not regard dogs who are small or medium in size, to be the real thing and therefor felt insulted to me used as a mannequin for a wee sized dog :)

That is so cute! Very nice Icelandic design. Did you work from a pattern? I love working with Icelandic wools, they have not had chemical processing so some of the lanolin is retained and they leave the knitter's hands very soft.

Gorgeous! I want one :)

That's exactly what I was thinking!

I can't even imagine either of my cats allowing me to put a sweater on them, much less posing for a picture in a sweater. But it sure does look nice on that gorgeous gray kitty!

Thank you :) - yes I did use a pattern and of course the Icelandic wool wich is my favorite and thankfully it is back in fashion here in Iceland since the recession hit us and a lot of really nice and fashionable patterns are now available - even one of a horse blanket with traditional Icelandic pattern :) (a great future project for my horses :) ).
