I will be getting a new knee this Thursday, stay in the hospital until Sunday, and since my computer is upstairs I may not be able to be on here for a long time. That should leave me lots of time for rehab.
Good luck with your surgery! My Mom has had both knee's replaced and has had a revision on one of them. It's definitely a hard surgery but I wish you a speedy recovery. Have you checked out any of the TKR forums?
How cool is that..great news on the 'improvement' surgeries these days. Get a laptop rented..and you won't even have to go through NN withdrawal. Hugs and fast recovery, ina n HB n Kesa
Do your physical therapy! I know many who have had the operation and you will be a new woman (that is, if you want to be!) as long as you comply with the after care. And, take that laptop away from the kids. You can't be away from NN!
I had both knees replaced at the same time three years ago. I worked hard at building muscle before the surgery and extremely hard at rehab. Left the hospital in 3 days and would have gone home but he worried that some of the 13 would knock me over. Went to in patient rehab for 5 more. Within three weeks after coming home I was driving and back at work. Push yourself and keep pushing. I can now kneel on them, although I cannot sit back. Doctor says I never will. Strung our Christmas lights on the roof that year (surgery was March). Very occasionally I will feel twinges and between the knees and my artifical hip when I am tired I will limp a little. Most people can't believe I h ave done both of them together but they needed it. My feeling was why be miserable twice. STill glad I did it that way. If I can answer any questions just PM me.
