Haven't been around here much lately. Husband has been going downhill for several weeks and I finally called the ambulance on Monday. He is still in hospital. No real official diagnosis yet but looks like a combination of things, just can't tell what is causing what for sure. Hemoglobin down, they gave him a pint of blood, COPD- they put him on oxygen and that is helping. That was the primary reason he finally gave up and went in, he simply couldn't breathe. Congestive heart failure appears to be kicking up a little as well and tonight his blood sugar was 415 (not good at all). He may come home tomorrow but hopefully on oxygen at least until we figure out what is causing what. GI doc wants him to redo the blood count in Jan and upper and lower endoscopies in Feb. Some sort of bleeding could be causing it OR she said perhaps he has quit making blood. That would require seeing the hemotologist. Didn't know there was a specialty besides OB and psychiatry that we had missed at the Medical Center- (small joke with grain of truth).
