Monty is almost 11 and I am taking him to the vet tomorrow. I think it might be time to let go. Monty has lost alot of weight the past year and is constantly panting. He is on Rymdal and gabapention. This managed his pain for about a year but his heavy panting has gotten worse. He suffers from elbow and hip dysplasia. He had a torn ligament in his knee when he was 18 months old.
All he wants to be is outside. I have trouble bringing him in. He didn't even come in for dinner last night. He just seems like he want to be alone, outside laying in the cool dirt. When he does come him he just won't settle down, panting and barking. It is such a hard decision. I know he is not happy or comfortable and the quality of his life is poor.
