I really had a huge scare tonight.. I normally would NOT ask for thoughts and prayers ...
but I could use a few !!

I know now... my Mom was diagosed Dementia ????
More Alzheimers
I got an urgent call... Akira dove in the pool..... My first thought was ...trapped under the cover
OMG !!! Which is totally gated

Had I not had the help OMG !

Oh Patty....what a night you've had. I'm so sorry about your Mom. What a heartbreaking diagnosis.

I know you were petrified about Akira. I'm so glad she is okay. Pool covers scare me to death.

Good thoughts going out to you and yours. Try to get some rest.

First, don't blame yourself playing the what if game...you can't expect yourself to be prepared for every event that might or might not happen. Just thank God that Akira is safe and make any changes that might be necessary to ensure that this particular event doesn't happen again.

Second, I am so sorry to hear about your moms diagnosis. Alzheimers is a scary diagnosis, I know from experience. At this time I want you to know that you are not alone! If you ever need to talk please feel free to PM me and I will gladly give you my phone number. There are also some very good Alzheimers support forums and chat rooms on the internet. These groups not only will provide you with emotional support and a place to vent but they are also great for gaining information. The people in these alzheimers groups can and will make you aware of new theories, medications, programs and care taking techniques.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Again if you ever need to talk I am just a post away.

Awww, sorry about your Mom Patti. I know that has to be a difficult thing.

And thank heavens you were able to get Akira out in time. Dogs can manage to get themselves in pridicaments no matter how hard we try to safe guard them.

How scary, Patty! I am glad Akira is ok! Alzheimers is such a frustrating illness for all involved, and can make everyone feel so helpless. Let me know if you need help with anything!

Sorry about your mom,our Aunt was diagnosed with Alzheimers, there are new great meds out there that work well. sending prayers and an angels .glad Akira is OK.

I am so sorry!! What a day! There really are a lot of new meds for dementia. Pool covers scare me to death, too, and thank goD Akira was alright!! Prayers and positive thoughts and energy headed your way!

OMG! My heart would have been beating out of my chest! Patty, I'm so glad Akira is alright! Her guardian angel, Chance was watching over her for sure. That's the scary thing about pools and dogs...expecially water dogs. I know of at least one Newf that drowned in a covered pool. Please let this be a cautionary lesson to everyone with dogs and pools. Please supervised your dogs outdoors around a pool, just like you do with children...even a fenced pool. Some will do anything to get to water.

So sorry about your mom Patty. Such a tragic disease. Hang in there. Hugs to you, your mom, Akira and Brogan.

Definitely an utterly terrifying night.. thank God you got her out. I'm so sorry you had to go through this... how awful. As for your Mom.. well, my heart is with you... and I understand...
