Favorite scratching place

Does your Newf have one? At water training a couple of weeks ago, I watched an intact male go into a trance while sitting and having his chin scratched while patiently waiting his turn ... he looked like a 150 lb black cat - nose up in the air, eyes closed, look of bliss on his sweet face ...

I can't seem to find a good spot on either Magnum or Thor so I was just wondering about everyone else ....

Ayasha's is DEFINITELY her chest. She just totally melts and puts on the most sucky face I have EVER seen. I just love it. She calms right down and puts her paw on top of your arm to make sure you don't stop.

Oliver is a big fan of the chin scratch, too. He also loves laying on his back and being scratched along the area where his back leg joins to the torso/stomach area.

Roger and Merlin both love their chin rub's. They both also love the chest and ears. Shannon want's her belly rubbed ALL THE TIME! You go up, to pet her, and she automatically fips over (like a pancake or an egg on a skillet)!

The visual of this made me laugh and laugh!! I can just picture her face being all full of anticipation and then rolling right onto her back! :whistling: What a sweety!

Both of mine will moan with delight at having their ears rubbed. Orion loves his chin and cheeks scratched, mmmmmmmmmmm. Aquila loves belly rubs above and beyond everything else. Both love rump scrathing, too!

River melts when her daddy scratches both her ears, flapping them around. If he stops she pulls his hand back gently with her mouth or sticks her head under his hand.

Annabelle has the chin scratch rapture..........She does not close her eyes, she gazes straight into my eyes and I feel connects. She only does this one with me. She was the dog who would not look at you, so it is special.
Annabelle also has the chest scratch..........She makes a cat purring sound when you do it and strangers often think she is growling, when they happen to find the spot, so i warn them and they go looking for her favorite spot and it makes them laugh when she makes the sound.
Tessa loves her head stroked softly, she wraps herself around you, with her head on your knee......She loves this.

Aw....Glory loves this too and she will lay there with her head on the knee and gaze directly into your eyes the whole time. One of those connect moments.

Henry loves his ears and chin scratched. He moans softly if the ears are scratched just right.

Winston has a spot below the arm pit that when scratched just right gets his back leg in motion. His favorite spot is his belly. He rolls right over and starts snoaring.

Rocky has what my husband refers to as the kill switch. If you scratch his chest he goes into a trance of some sort. Has been very useful at times. :)

Lulu has that switch on her chest, too. There's a spot just to the left of her breastbone that when scratched will send her to nirvana. Her eyes glaze over, her tongue protrudes, the drool starts and there is no blink response if you pass your hand before her eyes. I say 'lights on, no one home, she's gone to her happy place.' Works great when she's over-revved and needs to calm down.
