Thank you all for the thoughts/prayers/vibes. It means so much to know you guys understand and are thinking of my girl. This is a difficult journey and one can feel so lonely at times.
Ebony had her first treatment with the new drug just over a week ago. The day after treatment she was quite tired, but has since perked up and is fairly "normal" again. She had a great day chasing 4-wheelers today and it made me smile to see her having so much fun.
She had her 1-week-after bloodwork done to see if the drug is having any adverse effects on her blood counts and liver. Everything came back beautiful! WHEW! I was so worried about her liver. She was started on antibiotics after the treatment just 'cuz the drug can crash her blood counts and make her susceptible to infection and the antibiotics have been messing with her appetite. She likes baby food though, and will eat her kibble if I mix a jar in.
So far, I haven't noticed any shrinking of her lymph nodes and that is quite worrisome. After the first treatment of her first protocol we noticed a drastic reduction within 48 hrs and now, nothing. I know a second remission is harder to acheive, but I was hoping to notice a change by now.
Her next treatment is scheduled for the 25th of this month, so we will see how things progress. She has remained wiggly and happy and for now that is all I can ask for. She is an amazing creature, for sure!!!
Thanks again for listening and being here!!
