The vet wanted to keep him overnight because of his size but since they don't have anyone there at night, I said I'd feel better if he was home. So they said I can pick him up in a little over an hour. :icon_bb::icon_bb::icon_bb:

Yaaayyy! Ask them to send home some pain meds for him...but a lot of handfeeding of say...oh, I don't know...boiled chicken or thinly sliced roast beef might be nice...:icon_bb:

He will do much better under your watchful eye! Not to mention that he will be more comfortable and less stressed at home. Glad it is over!

He's home. In his kennel for his own protection from Beau and Apache who were very glad to see him. The vet had an emergency right before I got there and had to sew an ear back on before she could come in to give me my instructions. I could hear Cole in the back howling the whole time. When she came in and while I was signing that I was taking him home against her advice, she explained she'd had bad things happen when others hadn't taken her advice. An ortho case jumped through the window and undid everything she'd just done, etc. when she got to the 3rd case, I stopped her and said, "If I'd done that almost 7 years ago, Apache would have been put down instead of getting ready to celebrate his 7th birthday next month. Her eyes got big and she said, oh yeah but you are willing to do more than most owners. I said exactly!!! ;)

I had to search around to see what Cole was coming home from, lol! Re: your Vet - I would have brought my boy home too, Karen! Good for you! ;)

Aww good for Cole. I'm sure he took it like all Newfs do. Give him a couple days and it will be like it never happened. And of course the table scraps help with that.

He's doing great. Earlier he was having trouble with it itching so I sprayed it with some Betagen that I keep around for hotspots. He settled down very nicely after that. Hopefully it'll work as well on this as it always does on their hotspots. Usually clears it up in about 24 hours. ;)
