Clifford is blind (hopefully temporary)

Sending good thoughts your way.
Was it an ophthalmologist he was refereed to?
Yes, it is Dr Zigler at the Emergency Vet hospital in Oakville. I really liked him. He was good with Clifford, explained all the possibilities, side effects of meds, etc, without talking down to me, but took the time to make sure all my questions were answered too. The girl at the front desk even told me to get the antibiotic at my own pharmacy, that it would be cheaper there. We go back next Thursday unless we need to sooner.

Praying Clifford gets all his sight back quickly and the vets are able to determine the cause and prevent it from ever happening again. Please let us know how things go! Man there's been lots of sudden health issues popping up for ppl's Newfs.

I saw your update in your original post that he is now tracking things with his eyes. YAY! Let's hope it's reversable or that at least they caught it early.

UPDATE-
This morning Clifford is able to follow objects with his eyes. He still has trouble taking them so not all back. Good to see such a big improvement. I didn't know if he would get any of his sight back ever.
Thanks again everyone for your well wishes and advice.
I am so glad he has improved :hugs; :hugs: for you both and praying for a good recovery :) Ronnie

Glad to hear he has shown improvement!!!!! As a mom of a blind Newf, I know they do cope very well, but I have my fingers crossed for a full recovery.
