I got a dog with an even shorter life span and more health problems than a newf. :kgo_017:
Meet Zoey. Eight weeks old. She came home Friday. I have known I was getting her for a little while but was hesitant to post it. I feel guilty somehow for getting her?

The timing just feels all wrong, even though I have wanted a great dane for many years, since even before I got the newfs. A breeder friend of a friend who had a litter of 11 gave her to me. They were born ten days after Sophie passed.

Anyway, she loves Gabriel and he has taken an interest in her. He is going outside more when she goes. He hasn't peed on himself once since she got here. He seems to have perked up a bit, which is a good thing.

Oh my, please don't feel guilty for giving this cutie a loving home. Sophie would be so proud of you and would love this little girl as much as Gabriel. I can't wait to watch her grow up. Congratulations!

Congratulations on the new adorable baby girl. That is so nice that Gabriel is perking up a bit.
As far as the timing of it all - life is so strange - sometimes you just have to go with it.....Take the happiness and joy when it presents itself.
Love your dogs' names - I have a son, Gabriel and daughter, Zoe :)

Oh Anita, don't feel guilty! I'm sure Zoey was sent to you for a reason. She's a lucky little (for now LOL) girl who has found a wonderful family. I'm sure Gabriel is teaching her all she needs to know. Congratulations, she is adorable!

Enjoy Zoey.sometimes timing is weird.
My two were born just as my munchkin started to fail and like you l am hoping it will give Jessie a bit longer.
Life is too short and if you have always wanted one then go for it and enjoy her.l still think Gabriel may have been grieving for Sophie.

I love her. I miss having a Dane and have been considering a Harle or merle. Enjoy her. She will bring so much laughter into your home.
