My husband says I should still go so I can immerse myself in fur and drool. I said we'll have to wait and see. With 2 non-fur kids, a trip may be out of the question (mostly on the finances).. I say I still haven't met Pooka, and I have to do it one day or another...

We're planning on it too. Two adults, 1 Newf, maybe maybe 1 more adult and a rat terrier if I can talk my friend from childhood into joining me in another trip down memory lane. Will be staying at the cottage on Kamaniskeg. Hope to get there the Sunday before. We need lots of rest after hoofing it from FL.

The owner of the hotel emailed me, she is on vacation this week, but will sort out all of the details about how/when people need to confirm their rooms when she gets back. I have reserved almost the entire hotel, and people will need to confirm rooms ahead of time. Normally the hotel is booked solid that weekend, it's a pretty busy time of year up here still.

She is giving us a discount iff the regular rate, plus waiving the pet fee. Also, they only have one section of hotel that is for pets, but will make extend that to other areas if needed as reservations come in.

I will also post info about cottage rentals in the area for people that are making a longer vacation out of this.

We are very close to Algonquin Park, for those that have never been. The fall colours will be starting, not near their peak by any means, but it is a beautiful time to go to the park....and no bugs!

She can do a meal plan too, with breakfast buffet if enough people are interested....do people want that, or would you prefer to eat in the various restaurants in town?

Hah! That's right! He makes limited celebrity appearances, unlike his fame-hogging brother Nanook!

Bob and I and the girls Nana and Emma will be coming. We want to be on the ground floor of the hotel if possible, Nana is getting on in years. What do we do with the dogs when we eat at the restaurant? I am getting excited to find out what we will be doing for the weekend with all these wonderful dogs

For those coming from the States or somewhere that haven't been to Algonquin it really is something spectacular. Read up on it a little bit first. Amazing place.

Hello,

Yvan and I will be there for sure ! Amy would find the trip a bit too long so will stay home with a dogsitter but Pawel will be more than happy to take part.

We have two friends from Quebec that will also be comming with there newf rescue Nikkie (10 yo+) and two other friends from Montreal area that are also looking up to see it they can make it on that date but I do not know how many of there newfs would come with them. Peter, Kodiakpm: you know all of them, Sophie and Élisabeth, Marie-France and Francis.

Tina, Sandra, I will give them a ring today and see if they all need a room or if they plan on camping as both are pretty outdoorsy people.

Yvan and I will definatly need a room.

I come back to tell you all the details as soon as I reach them.

Bye for now.
Kim
