Bad Willow or bad me.

Good thing I'm so easy going...Willow chewed up my glasses. They we on the end table while I was laying on the couch and fell asleep. Now I can't find one of the lenses. Grrrrrrrr..puppies are over-rated. I certainly can't imagine her swallowing the missing lens??

You'd be amazed what puppies can swallow! A call to the vet might be in order.

O'Malley (kitty) swallowed a long piece of fabric ribbon while I was wrapping gifts at Christmas time. I phoned the vet...and it turned out that I had to make O'Malley "give it back", by causing him to vomit. Vet told me to just keep giving 1/2 tsp peroxide at a time, until he up-chucked...said it shouldn't take much, and would be immediate. O'Malley was drooling and foaming at the mouth, better than any newf ever has, but he refused to puke. Took almost 3 tablespoons, then he finally produced the ribbon (and his breakfast). The things we go through with our critters!

Hope you have a spare pair of glasses....it might be a while before you get your lens back! :run:

I lost 3 new pairs of glasses (each two weeks apart) to Hugo when he was a pup. Guess he didn't like the style of frames I picked. Yup, pups are over-rated. LOL

Wanna bet on swallowing it? Better be watching poop and complications. Hopefully it was not swallowed or easily passed.

Well per your title of this thread, it is YOU that is BAD. I am not saying that because I think you are. Just looking back at precedence here with the kanagroo Newf.net court of law, the dog is ALWAYS innocent unless it happens to you :) I have not even read the other replies yet. But I bet others will say you are bad because you left the glasses in the wrong spot in the first place. :)

Again, sure hope nothing bad happens to the pup.

they sure like things they shouldn't have, so far two mobile phones, glasses saved from newfy death and new tv remote control. You just have to remember as with kids if it looks interesting its worse mouthing or chewing.

Well, this all happened Saturday morning. So far Willow is alright...pooping and eating normally. Called the vet and he says just to watch her "elimination process" carefully and bring her in if she shows any signs of discomfort. The lens could be anywhere in the house.

I guess this was bad me....I put the glasses on a table that a smaller dog wouldn't have got up on. I never had this problem with my Spaniels. :)

We have had several pens, Becky's cell phone, the remote for the Cable box, the TV remote, several bottle caps; anything left under 5 ft seems to be fair game..:D

You're not alone! Ursa's Daddy lost his glasses to the puppies as well. He'd left them on the nightstand and one of the puppies chomped them. I don't think he was all that upset - he was more than ready to update his frames and this gave him the perfect excuse!

Leonard, You're not still sore over the Snuffles/Grandma incident are you???
And yes, It is always the peoples fault. They don't call this DogOwners.Net
It's for and about the Newfoundland dog! They do no wrong. Just ask NN's own Nana. She'll tell you!

I hope you realise it is always your fault for leaving them lying around........... It cannot be the innocent little Willows fault, ever.....Sorry it is what hubby and I tell one another when we have something chewed by puppies in the past. They seem to love glasses, I am not sure why. Hope you have found the lens.

my newfs have not really eaten anything like this but my home is like a toddler lives here. no coffee table side tables have a lamp thats all. no nic nacks. tails are deadly at knocking things over. so with untrustworthy pups you pretty much need to act like you have a toddler in the home!!LOL!!
