What cool tricks can your Newfie do?

Gitche doesn't knows how to shake (both hands), pray, high five (both hands) and just in the last few days she has finally figured out how to catch with her mouth instead of trying to catch with her hands.

We are so proud!! :)

Katie's trick is to carry the leashes up the hill to the gate before every walk. She won't go up the hill without them

Louie's trick is to be a naughty, but very sweet puppy.

Wow there are a lot of great tricks here! Thanks so much for sharing and for giving me some ideas. I need all the help I can get. I am going to try to get him to carry something, probably his leash or I do like the groceries, that way he could help me when my kids are not home!

It's not lame if your dog can't do it! Tug can't!
He can play 'Trust' (not touch a treat till I say "Paid for") catch a treat off his nose, circle, high fives, shake paws, speak, ring the bell to go outside, and he's learning to crawl. But he still won't roll over!
:tequila: What's your secret???
Winston came trained like that! His former owner told me he taught him "submit" as the word .... I prefer "rollover!"

Personally, I think it's a great trick :sunflower:
Thanks Charity!

Bär likes to carry thinks. So far it has manly been stuffies, but we have been working with him on carrying things & then drop them in to the recycle bin.
Also started bringing daddy his slippers, not consistently yet though.
Loves to carry his leash on a walk or a very big stick that he finds on the way.
Shakes with right paw, command lift for left paw.
He does watch me, for every treat.
We are working on roll over, 75% success.
Hoop = clime up on daddy until paws reach shoulders.
touch = treat in one fist, he has to touch correct fist with nose before getting treat.
I think that is about it that we have going right now, if I can think of more that we do I will post it.

Buddy can do a crawl through the grass out back, but that is only with a treat still, he wont do it with a word command yet.

I wonder why some Newfs don't want to rollover....my Berner loves it...He will rollover right next to Blue, the Newf. I can not get Blue to rollover for the life of me.

Blue spins. He can also open doors when he wants to come back in. My Berner rolls, shakes, high fives, spins, twists.

We had a NEwfie friend and her owner (sorry Andrea if you are reading this:))...the Newfie friend was intrigued by our pantry, so she went over and used her nose to open the door handle! Meanwhile my 2 are watching her, hopefully not learning!

Thora will take the laundry out of the washing machine or dryer and give it to me. It was easier to teach her how to do the laundry than it was to teach my husband.

She'll also bring a matched pair of shoes.

Gabe gives "High Five" with both paws and waves "Hello". He also loves to carry things in his mouth so we are currently working on some ideas with that. I'd like him to carry a basket with our new baby parrots riding inside!

Abbey is very good at pushing down the drain plug in the bathtub and turning on the water. Which is why we DON'T leave her unattended in the house!:lol::lol:
Zeke will smack his lips before eating a treat. I sometimes think he's human.

Morgan knows sit, shake, high 5, spin, back up, down, stay...she is learning shape recognition and she also will stack food bowls--but I havent taught her to do it on command yet.

Gidget knows sit and the word eat. :)

Finley (Golden) knows sit, down, stay, wait, shake, high 5, spin, roll over, back up, over, under, find it, touch, catch it, drop it, leave it. I was teaching him to turn off the lights, but he started to scratch the walls...

I love teaching tricks!!

Oh that could be really dangerous

Morgan's and Findley's tricks are incredible. Poor Thunder, the best he can do is run the rest of our pack. Guess I ought to teach him something. He does do sit, down, heel and moderate stay but those don't seem like tricks, just good manners.
