Weird Pet weekend - NN

This has been the strangest two days in the Dawson house. Last night, my daughter's dresser fell over when nobody was home (and no, the Newf didn't do it...she left the drawers open and it got front-heavy). On top of the dresser was her goldfish, Yolo, who has managed to stay alive for six months ever since he came home from the church festival. His bowl broke and when Claire came home, she found the mess. Almost 30 minutes later, she located Yolo under her bed and he was still breathing! She quickly put him in some water and this morning he appears to be as good as new. From this day on, he will be known as Yolo Potter, the fish who LIVED.

Then, today, my neighbor came over and said that she'd seen our cat, Hector, on the Humane Society facebook page. Hector has been missing since June and we thought she had died. Turns out our neighbor was right - she has been there all along. We had checked there when she first disappeared but they didn't have her at that point. Welcome home, Hector. Try not to eat Yolo.

Oh, and apparently while she was there she was photographed for the local Humane Society calendar. I hope she hasn't developed a big head from her pinup girl status.

The dogs are, so far, without event this week....of course, the weekend isn't over yet and there will be many temptations for my counter surfing girl.

Aw, glad Yolo is ok! And that's great news about Hector - same thing happened to my boyfriend's parents!

They had a female ginger cat which is apparently not as common as most ginger cats are male. When they called the shelter they just assumed she was a boy so said they didn't have her. It wasn't until they saw her being advertised on local TV a good few months later that they knew she was there!

Yolo's name should be changed to Yolt-you only live twice. ( I have a teenager, so the yolo is familiar! )

And yay Hector!! Is she signing the calendars??
