:music::beer::music:Update on Ms. Tess:

Newf Net prayers win again!!!!! She's finally back at the shelter, skinny as a rail but fixed up. I talked to the vet tech and there was a lot more pushing through Tess' diaphram - a kidney, part of her liver, her stomach and the majority of her intestines - large AND small. She said the hole in her diaphram was huge! Tess is a fighter and pulled through. She's currently eating smaller meals (her stomach was so squeezed that it still can't take large amounts), and in great spirits. I was SO excited to see her this morning that I couldn't wait to be finished cleaning and get home - believe me, it was very hard NOT to speed home so I could give you all an update!!! Gotta run - snagging a satin balls recipe and making some up for our special patient to help her put some much needed weight on. Thanks guys! YOU ROCK!!!!!
:groovy::groovy::groovy::groovy::groovy::groovy:

Asking for prayers for one of our shelter "kids". Tess is a sweet young lady, terrier mix, who after she arrived from Tennessee lost a lot of weight despite our best efforts at getting her to eat - believe me, I tried!!! We ran her up to the vets and they took some xrays - she's got a hole in her diaphram and her intestines are pushing up through it and pressing on her lungs. She's to undergo surgery to attempt to repair this in the next day or so. It's very risky, but we want to give her a chance. Please keep her in your prayers for a good outcome.

Made a batch of satin balls and took them to the shelter - Tess glommed down about 6 of them - not to worry, I made them REALLY small to compensate for her tummy... boy is it hard trying to downsize after you're so used to feeding a newfie beastie! LOL She loved them and practically jumped out of her crate to get to the plate! I only made meatballs from a part of the batch - used the one pound recipe, and will finish making the rest into terrier size later to freeze and leave at the shelter for any dog that needs it. Question - might these work for kittens? One of the workers is fostering a kitten, and right now she's adding nutrical to its food to get a little weight on it.

Quick snapshot of Ms. Tess yesterday. Started her on satin balls Thursday and she's wolfing them down. She still looks wicked skinny here, but even after a few satin balls Thursday, and a couple of meals with them on Friday to me it looks like her ribs are looking a lot less bony. She's so happy to be back with us and doing very well. Believe me, she's getting LOTS of loving!!! We're going to be extra special fussy when it comes to adopting her out.
