Up date on Gunny

Well Gunny is still in surgery. He is having 6 teeth removed. They all all decayed from being worn down by his chewing stuff in the yard. I am so upset. I always take stuff out of his mouth and try and watch him but I guess I didn't do a good enough job. I noticed the last couple of weeks that he had bad breath even though I brush his teeth regularly. The vet did say his other teeth look great. Anyway I feel like I am rambling.....I'll keep you posted.

The vet just called. They only tooth three teeth out. He still needs the others out but the vet didn't want to keep in "under" too long. He was "under"" for 1 1/2 hrs. One tooth was broken and the others looked like they were cracked and decay and infection set in.

I should be able to bring him home around 5. He can have canned food or they told me to soak his dry food and make mush out of it for the next 2 weeks.
Keep praying for him (and Me).

((Gunny & Annette)) He'll feel better soon. When the bad teeth come out and heal a bit a spring in the step returns.

Gunny is home. He is on tramadol for pain and tomorrow I start him on his antiobotics.
He is laying in my room, panting alot. I hope he starts to calm down and maybe sleep a little. Vet said not to even try and feed him tonight. Thanks for all the prayers and good thoughts. keep them coming.

Poor Gunny! I am glad to hear he is home with you.. that is always such a relief.
He will probably be unsettled for awhile due to the anesthesia after effects.
Hopefully he will be back to his normal self tomorrow. When he is over all this he will probably actually feel better without those teeth.
Hugs to both of you....

Gunny is on the mend (I hope). He is eating which I know is a good sign. I have been feeding him small meals. I soak his food till it is soft and add some yogurt. I was feeding him by hand but tonight he was able to eat out of his bowl. And he finally went PEE..now I am waiting for poop!!!! Newf net is the only place that I can discuss how excited I was when he went pee.

Aw...Glad to hear he seems to be feeling better. Sometimes it takes a couple of days for all the internal workings to "wake up" completely from the anesthesia.
Eating is a good sign...You should have what you are looking for by tomorrow....:)
Hugs and (gentle) kisses to Gunny.
