Tonka's Photo Book

I have always said that when Tonka was gone I was gonna do a Photo Book in his memory. Just for me, to remember him by. I never knew it was going to be soo hard to look at all his pictures and have all those memories back and him gone forever. In 3 days it will be a month since he's gone and my boy is in my mind everyday. Last week I had a neighbor in a wheel chair come to my house to see Tonka, we used to walk by her house at least 3 times a week and she would wait for Tonka at the door of her house and call him to come in so she could rub his big head. She didn't see him in over 2 weeks so she came over and I told her the news. She was very sad to hear Tonka was gone :( That's how much impact this wonderful breed has on people. So I finally had a 14x11" Hardcover coffee table book sent to print. It has many of my favorite pictures I took of my boy over the years. Some I posted here before, some no one else has seen. They just shipped my book today so I hope to get it by next week. I left about 6 blank pages at the end so I can literary copy and paste all the wonderful coments and prayers that I got from everyone. It's hard for me to write about him, but it's not just about me. He was loved by many people and sharing his pictures is the least I can do.

I'm posting some pictures here but if anyone wants to see the whole book here is a link:

Berto.. These pictures are a stunning tribute to another angel..

Your well thought out private words of kindness when I lost my Murphy were treasured .. and I cannot equal the gift of words that you have.. But rest assured.. I feel every bit of your pain.. and yes.. your boy was captured in magnificent photos.. as he was so magnificent... :grouphug:

The photo book will be a great keepsake of the beautiful and much-loved Tonka. Thank you for sharing with us.

P.S. I went through the whole book and there are some really great shots that show his true spirit: the dirty nose, him holding that enormous stick on the beach, your Tonka tattoo...he's brought back to life in so many ways through each of those pictures.

Good for you. It has been almost 2 years since I lost Hudson and I still can't do the book. I know it would help a lot. But it is so hard. Good for you, the pictures are amazing.

He was a Newf among Newfs, Berto. His picture should be in the dictionary under Newfoundland (dog). Beautiful pictures to honor one of the most beautiful of Newfs.

All due respect to everyone else, but Berto, IMHO you and Tonka win the award for best photos. You are extremely talented photographer (and as the son of a professional photographer I ought to know a thing or two) and Tonka was a fantastic and handsome subject.
