OMG is it really? Yay! I had had Zuzu on TOTW Pacific Stream this Fall/Winter when we moved and I could not find a convenient Costco, then recently found a Costco (yay!) and tried to switch her back to the Kirkland Premium chicken that she used to eat and her tummy doesn't seem to like it all that much anymore - so YESTERDAY I bought a bag of the ND Salmon and Sweet Potato!I feed Nature's Domain Salmon & Sweet Potato but it actually IS TOTW, just repackaged by them for Costco. I absolutely love it and it consistently is rated very highly by dog food reviewers and web sites.
I never knew! Looking at the product ingredients, ND has slightly less protein and slight variations in the ingredients (ND's first ingredient is salmon meal, TOTW is straight up salmon), but Gilly's coat has always been great on nature's domain and she liked it more than some of the other high-end kibbles we tried her on. I did just see that the nature's domain has peas which was actually one of Gilly's high allergens and TOTW version doesn't has peas...hmm....I feed Nature's Domain Salmon & Sweet Potato but it actually IS TOTW, just repackaged by them for Costco. My girl isn't an enthusiastic eater, but she has become a great eater on this stuff. Her coat and skin are fabulous, she has very regular bowel movements and we've not ONCE had issues with loose stools on it, which has been a huge problem with her in the past.
Diamond (the manufacturer) recently had a voluntary recall for one of their product lines, but no person or animal has been affected. http://www.diamondpet.com/information/
Coop was gassy and burpy on every grain free food I tried. I now feed a food with oatmeal to him (hypoallergenic grain) and that works. Maybe Sulley needs a little grain mixed in?I've fed TOTW for close to 18 months. He stopped being able to deal with Pro Plan, so we had to find something that worked. I moved to the fish which worked awesome, but have recently tried the Sierra Mountain stuff and it's working great, with less burping and gas that no longer knocks me off my chain (fishy farts are gross). He seems less gassy on this one so I think he is digesting it better than the fish (he has a delicate tummy).
I've been slowly adding in more fiber to help fill him up, that might be what made the difference...it would also slow down digestion, so maybe the food is getting digested a little more before it hits the intestines. I didn't intend to take him 'grain free', we just ended up on this through trail and error.Coop was gassy and burpy on every grain free food I tried.
