Sully Surgery

This morning Sully is having TPLO Surgery. We took him to Purdue University yesterday. It was hard to leave him!! One of the people at the desk has gotten to know Mike and I thru this, and his skin alergy, and could see we were hating leaving him. He tried to reasure us telling us they do this surgery everyday there. He said before he started there he had no idea how common this is.
It just isn't the same without him home. We have a ShihTzu, which I also love, but she doesn't seem as human as Sully does to us. When he looks at us his eyes just show the love he has for us, and when we talk to him (which is all the time), if he doesn't understand the many sentences we say to him, he tilts his head like he is doing the best to understand what we are saying.
Gotta quit writing, while I know he will be alright, I am shedding tears talking about how special he is to us.

Thanks for the well wishes, and yes we did get a sling years ago with our first Newf, I believe it was thru a club. I always wanted one on hand in case of an emergency, but thanks for the info.
They called me awhile ago, to tell me he did well thru the nite, and they are going to operate at noon today. They said they would call again after he recovers.
Thanks again!

Hang in there... I know it's difficult.... as Bear has had 2 TPLO surgeries in the past 4 months... so I feel your pain.... but know that they will take really good care of him.

The doctor called late last nite, they got a late start, and said it was a complete tear, but it did not cause any further damage, GREAT NEWS!!
They just now called, and said he did well thru the nite, and he is already putting weight on his leg, he will get to come home later today!!! Yeah!!!

Wonderful news! I hope he heals as quickly as Charlie did. Vet said he had never had a giant breed heal so fast:)
