The first photos of this spring...

I'm always amazed by how lush the plant growth is here (east-central NY), especially now after spending over half the year in the Adirondacks, where it's mostly conifers and bogs
Lots of interesting wildlife comes out in the spring.
Owl pellet (first I've found in several months...)
Did a quick dissection
And one of my favorite birds, the pileated woodpecker. They're pretty elusive, but I managed to see at least one almost every day during the winter, and today finally managed to get a photo of this one, which was pecking at a log. I wish it was of higher quality, but I was afraid to get much closer in case it would fly away.
