Several years ago, okey maybe many, now, I was at the beach with Mudji. He was about 2, I think. We happened upon someone I was acquainted with from town, who just happened to have their new newf puppy with them at the beach, Splash. Splash did not know what to do with Mudji. I think Splash was maybe 12-15 weeks, maybe, not sure.

Fast forward. This person comes in the bakery to get bread on a fairly regular basis. I usually inquire about the family, kids, Splash. Yesterday she was came in late and picked up some bread. The chit chat ensued. Talk about work, the kids, and and "oh by the way, we had to put Splash down a few months ago". Shock on my part you can imagine. Very sudden as well. She is a nurse, and has newfs before, so aware of things.

Splash had been sore in his rear end she said, and was not liking to be trimmed around his pants. He was in pain and the vet had prescribed some Rimadyl and then other meds. Then suddenly, he went upstairs to his bed, and never left the room. They could not get him up, nothing. Sadly, the vet was called and Splash crossed Rainbow Bridge. Splash was 6.

Rest well, Splash. You are in good company!

PS I suggested to the owner that she contact the breeder to let them know what happened as there may be something in the breed line or other litter mates that could have been an underlying cause.

I think we should all hold hands and cross the bridge together. Can you imagine the sight of all those thundering dogs running towards us. At the very least there should be a NN GTG under the rainbow bridge where there is plenty of water for the dogs and a lot of us needing our souls to be saved.

Godspeed sweet, Splash.

I'm sorry to hear of this loss. Splash can now run pain free. Maybe Splash will meet up with my Tori and they can run together.
