Sourcing Orijen 6

I know we've discussed here the problems of sourcing Orijen 6. Well, seems here in the Northeast US sources seemed to have dried up. I can't even get the 15+# bags anymore. I've asked the suppliers and they have no idea when they will be getting it in, or even how much when they do.

Anybody know of any sources or an adequate substitute? We used to feed exclusively raw, but lately have switched the kids to this with raw.

thanks,

Arcana is made by the markers of Origen, and is a little lower in cost. A little less fish than the 6 fish, but still a good food.

Acana is made by the same company, can you get that. Have they said why they are still having trouble getting supplies through. Also have you considered ordering online

I had checked old posts regarding this issue and subsequently checked into Acana too. Most suppliers I checked were also out of stock of the Pacificia brand. I have checked online, and actually ordered the last batch through that method. One company I found had it in stock, but it was in California. I figured the shipping to Maine would have killed that.

Hey, just had a thought... Maybe I should plan a trip to Montreal so I could pick some up on the north side of the border. Then I could check out some bakeries and make it a business trip. ;)

My kids have no food switching issues, so maybe I'll try one of the other versions. I have a very small bag, and have been using other foods, so I'll just keep searching. I just thought I'd see what others had to say.

Thanks for the suggestions,

I just ordered a few bags on line yesterday of the Acana Pacifica from Pet Food Authority, I believe they are in Maine. Not sure about the Orijen, but the customer service rep I spoke with said they were getting a shipment in on Friday of the Acana. I also placed an order earlier in the week with The Pet Health and Nutrition Center who also said they are expecting a shipment Friday.

Hey, Mudji, where in the Northeast are you? I also feed raw, but was going to pick up a bag of 6-fish because we were hiking last weekend and I usually feed Orijen when we travel. The store was out, but she said she was definitely getting a shipment in this week. It's the first time in 3 years (that I've been going to this store) that she hasn't had the 6-fish. She usually has it when everybody else doesn't.

My supplier was also out of Pacifica and 6 Fish. She wasn't sure when she was getting some. I just bought a bag of Orijen Adult. Our guys love any of the Orijen or Arcana choices.

wow...sounds like i am lucky..virtually every pet supply store in my city carry's Orijen according to their website. I have to stop on the way home to get kitten food anyhow, so i'll have to check what types.

Thank you!!!! I've had the worst time getting Khabo to eat. He loved Acana Pacifica and Orijen 6 fish and hasn't been consistent about eating anything else I put in front of him. I couldn't find either the Acana or Orijen anywhere, but I just ordered some from Pet Food Authority - shipped today. Boy, is Khabo going to be ONE happy boy!!!! thank you so very much for sharing.

Oooh Oooh.. lemme order now!! I've had an order "pending" from Doggie Food Direct since December, and the only store that stocks it "locally" (ie: 20 miles away from me) is also out. I rely on Wellness Core Ocean as my back-up, but with a growing puppy, I'm not crazy about its calcium content and I don't like to feed it consistently.

You are welcome! I'm glad you were able to find some and they ship fast! I got my bags 2 days after they shipped!

I did end up trying new food. The kids LOVE IT, so at least I have some options at the moment. I'll still look for Orijen 6, but options are good. And with everyone's weight losses at least I can add a little more food.
