Yesterday my daughter-in-law had another ultrasound. There was a little bit of good news. The ribs have grown just a bit but at least that is better than 2 weeks ago. The legs are still behind in growth. But we are all looking at the ribs growing as a good sign. Please keep the prayers coming. Thanks

This happened with my sister. Her third child, they detected an abnormality in the amnio and told her and her husband that the child would be "a monstrosity" (their words) and that she should terminate.

Hannah Mary was born at just 26 weeks, 2 lbs, spent her first few weeks in a nICU and had to be tube-fed until some abnormalities in her digestive tract were repaired (several surgeries till she was 5).

She is 16 yeas old today, still small in stature (medical professionals think this is linked to her genetic abnormality), but smart, happy, quick, a gymnast and accomplished equestrian. She's starting to think about college.

Miracles do happen. I hope your son and DIL have one too.
What a great story, so glad Hannah Mary is doing well!

I also believe miracles happen and am so glad to hear if the rib growth. Your family will continue to be in my thoughts!

YAYYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!! This is awesome! I know someone that was also told that her baby had multiple skeletal, heart and neurologic defects and would die shortly after birth. Mercifully, he has survived, had a few surgeries on his heart and had to have both his legs amputated at the knees, but just a few days ago, he took his first steps outside on his new, teeny-weeny prosthetics. I also have another friend that had a baby that was also not expected to survive birth, but several heart and esophageal surgeries later, Rory is a healthy toddler!

Miracles DO happen. Every day.

Yay! I'm so happy to see this positive news! Remember the medical community caring for her is going to be cautious to the point of the extreme, to avoid being sued. It's not that they don't care, it is simply the way our system works nowadays.

So I will take the growth as a good sign and hope that your son and DIL can now rest a bit easier. Sending lots of positive thoughts to the little one and your whole family!
