Our beloved Murphy 7-30-99 to 12-2-03

Tonight our sweet guy went to heaven. Tears are pouring as I write this since it's still so hard to believe. You may have read my recent posts about his Lyme Disease on the Health forum. We had hoped we had caught it in time and he was improving, but things took a terrible turn the past few days and the poor guy couldn't hang on. Never complained though, isn't that the Newfie way! Murph, you were our wonderful companion the past four years and Dad and I and the kids will love you always and miss you so much already. I hope you are hanging out with your Grampas right now cause they knew how special you were too. Goodnight my sweet boy.

Sorry to hear of your loss. I can relate to your pain I lost my Siberian Huskey quickly to cancer and I think of her everyday. I can tell you that it does get easier and that someday you'll smile just from hearing his name. Hang in there he's in my prayers tonight.

I am also sorry for your loss...it is always difficult to lose a companion you care about - man or animal. I lost my father this past summer and I felt really lost. But there will be a time...

So sorry to hear about Murphy. It seemed like he might have been improving but such a shame that he could not hold on. Time will heal this a little but you will never forget him and his struggle. You did everything you could have and my prayers are with your family.

I am so sorry you lost Murphy! It is so tragic, especially considering how young he was and how suddenly he was taken from you. It sounds like you did everything you could for him and you helped him live as comfortably as he could in the end. Please know that you have a support group here on NewfNet. Many of us have lost a beloved pet before and we know something of what you are going through right now. Thank you for taking the time to tell us about Murphy and sharing what you learned about Lyme disease with the rest of us. I hope you'll stay with us.

There's nothing I can say to make it any better except that I'm thinking of you and yours. I like the picture in my head of the rainbow bridge, all the furry critters waiting there, just like at the gate at the dog park. No pain, no sickness, just grass and waterfalls and big places to dig big holes.

I am so sorry for your loss. It's so difficult to see them go, but imagine him being there to greet you when it's your turn. He'll already know the ropes and be able to show you all the best places to play, when you get there.
