i rarely even look at the open discussion, but agree with the decision. if my only friends were those who shared my politics, i'd be very lonely!!

much better to talk on NN about our beloved newfs. there is soooo much talk, so many places to share one's opinions on politics, religion and other contentious topics that it seems unnecessary to do it here.

i'm all for exercising my constitutional right to free speech, but sometimes it's just better to keep quiet!

Although it is a good idea to keep politics and religion out of this forum (the wise choice) it was "fun" to read the many sides of an argument. Since this forum is nationwide and worldwide, for that matter, I enjoyed reading different points of view. Maybe I should have said "interesting" or "enlightening" instead of "fun." No harm was intended by my comment.
