I've been working hard at preparing for a panel but decided to take a couple days off and visit my parents on the 10th.
Tug was his exhuberant self and scared their two cats into hiding. One came around a bit but the other remained incommunicado. We thought she was hiding in the house...
On the 13th I started my truck, felt something odd, backed up a bit and saw fur and a collar on the grass. Immediately I got out and looked... She was hiding in my truck's engine. Poor Loki was hanging, limp and bloody, from my fan belt case by her head. I thought she was dead. My dad managed to get her out and said her neck was broken. My mom wouldn't let me stay so I met my Sister at the dog park, my original destination, where I completely lost it. We stayed for about an hour before phoning for an update. No answer. If they had taken her to be helped to the Bridge, it would be for the best.
An hour later my parents came back and she was alive!!!! Very hurt, dehydrated (she'd been there 3 warm days) but with enough will to live to call to her sister from my Mom's arms out in the grass.
She's now a Manx Wanna-Be...
A couple toes removed...
Her neck had been flayed open and missing muscle, but the Vet thinks it will recover...
And she may still be rebounding off the walls and tottering when she walks, but she's coming to eat with her sister Molly.
I thank all the Powers That Be, and Dr. Miracel, for letting Loki live out the rest of her 7 lives (they found a fused broken femur, from before the Parental Units got her, during the X-Rays).
