I'm so sorry you haven't found Squeek yet, it's so hard when you don't know where they've got to. I hope that she comes home to you soon.

Thanks guys for all your support. It's now 5 days and no news of her. I have talked to all the ladies on my street and a block away who feed outdoor cats and no one has even seen her. They are all looking. Also all the dog owners are looking for me while out walking their dogs. Squeek will stay hidden and the thing is she isn't the type to venture far away. Last night as I lay in my livingroom listening to the wind howl all I thought about is that she's out there. I'm pretty sure she isn't even alive at this point. She didn't have enough body fat and if she hasn't eaten in 5 days chances are slim.

I did drop off posters at 2 vets' offices and also at a petstore here on a main street that everyone knows about. They always have kittens for adoption. People often drop off animals that they found at this store. The owner knows me and he said he'll keep a look out.

Every day that passes I lose a piece of me. I'm still out every hour late at night calling her and I have put a carrier on my front porch. It's such a cruel twist of fate that I who has saved so many cats and kittens here can't save my own. How cruel is that?

To add to my grief I am insanely busy this weekend with work when all I want to do is just stay home and hope Squeek returns.

Susan, I am so sorry and understand completely what you're going through. We have had three cats disappear over the years, and all were "special". They were all microchipped, too. I spent months looking for each of them, and finally had to give up. We never found any of them. I just hope that they found a wonderful new home. You have to believe that Squeek is tougher than you think, and smart enough to find a safe, warm spot to hide. She may still turn up, even weeks later. Prepare yourself for the worst, but keep hoping for the best. Prayers from here. ((HUGS))

Thanks again guys. It's so weird but when I'm here I want to be out and when I'm out I want to be here. I have almost no voice left from exhaustion and calling for her. I'm am preparing for the worse and I keep telling myself that if she was starving and freezing that she would just go to sleep and not wake up. I have to believe that because the alternative is to horrible to think of. She looks worse than the strays out here because of her age and thinness. This isn't exactly the neighbourhood where cats get taken in which is why we have so many strays. First thing in the morning is the worse for me as that's when I realize another day has gone by. I'm not giving up on her just yet and will try for months to find her but I'm also being realistic in that her chances don't look good.

Just keep those positive vibes coming cause nothing beats the power of NN members.

Poor little kitty! I hope she finds her way home! Maybe leave a gate open? We have indoor only cats and one got out one day. We didn't notice until he was yowling
Outside out bedroom window at four AM. Hopefully your makes it home that way.

Another night and still nothing. It is brutally cold here. Two things dawned on me last night; 1) She may have died within 24 hours and/or 2) She may not be the type to find her way back. She may be hiding waiting for me to find her. Sadly I have given up hope of ever seeing her again unless by some miracle she was taken in by someone. There are 2 people on my street that I haven't checked with yet. Both are cat people.
Maybe I should leave the gate open at night but I'm so afraid I'll forget and then lose a dog.

Just checking in, but am sorry there is no new news. Maybe you could leave some blankets outside in front to keep her warm if she comes back.
