Manfred died about midnight:30 at the U of IL. He was 7. I am just heat broke. The local vets thought he had a intestinal blockage. So to get 24 hour care, my friend took him to the U of I to be examined around supper time. They decided to do surgery after 10:00 PM. I gather from when they got in there his intestines were a big knot. They had to let him go.
Manfred brought joy to many elderly and sick people. He was a Pet Partners (formerly Delta Society) dog and made regular trips to local nursing homes and the Peds unit at St John's in Springfield. He just loved to be with his people.
Here are a few pictures I have posted here in the past. Manfred also nicked named by his human Dad who past away just shy of a year ago referred to him as "The Tube". I was shocked the fist time I saw him counter surf with such sort legs.
RIP Sweet Man-Dog
Manfred and his Dad (very bonded)
On my lap somewhere he liked to be when we visited.
