NN-- Hannah is sick-possible UTI

just about the time we get Harley doing well (and getting quite cheeky at 15 months) Hannah is now sick.

she cried all night. she's peeing constantly. even in the house (which is so NOT like her)
when i let her out she paces and pees and that's it. and she will do this as long as I let her stay out... it's still not warm enough for her to be out all day and besides I have stuff to do and can't watch her all the time.


i figure she has a UTI or worse Harley rolled her too hard during play and she's got a boo-boo inside... (say bye bye savings account)

we have a 1:15 appointment with one of the vets in the practice.

anyone know about dog UTIs?

Can you see the color of it? Is it normal color with no blood? If so, I would think it's simply a UTI. I'm glad you are going to the vet. Please let us know.

When Lucy gets a UTI, she goes more often, but doesn't seem in too much distress. When Maggie gets a UTI, she will squat 20 times in a half hour, and seem genuinely in pain. One day on a good antibiotic usually makes them more comfortable, and after a couple of days, they seem better...although we're always sure to continue the meds until they're finished.

Just a thought. Get her some cranberry tabs, 500 mg. from the health food store. Give her 1 - 2 per day, and you'll probably never have that problem again.

I agree with Sue. Katie had a UTI once as a pup. It was very painful for her. I now sprinkle one cranberry capsule over every meal and she hasn't had a problem since.

she's had 2 doses of antibiotics and seems better already.

Harley not only rolls her he throws her across the yard and into the wooden fence.

and she goes after him to get him to do it!

OMG!!! I think Darla might have a UTI and I didn't even realize it! I thought she was just being a pain and wanted to go outside a lot!

OK, so how do I know if she has a uti??? I have never seen a dog ring a bell to go out as often as she does.. and for a while she was waking us up in the middle of the night to go out. OH NO! My poor bear... We thought she was just being a pain!

It is hard for me to tell what her pee looks like... she practically sits down when she goes... I will have to look today. What should I be looking for? OMG!!!

OK, let me know and I will see if I need to take her back to the vet. I feel so bad.
