Red Roof Inn is usually very pet friendly, when I go to the pone in Springfield, I have no problem registering with Newfs. I would try the ones in the area, and Candlewood is nice in this area.

The nearest Red Roof is in Arlington Heights, IL about 20 minutes away. I am told they are very nice. I check with FYC and they do not have a special rate at the Candlewood but use them as they are one of the nicer and cheapest in the area. I will do some more checking there is another hotel on the otherside of the airport that we have used for DockDog events. Will see if I can find the information.

Found it. The other hotel is the Motel 6 in Schiller Park,IL on Lawrence Ave. 847-671-4282

Do we have to register in advance or anything? We are thinking about driving down for the weekend. Although we will have a 10.5 week old Newf that won't have all his shots, so we may have to leave him at home or reconsider.

That is good to know. My friend, "Aunt Ellen" asked me if I wanted to go. Since it is a pretty easy day trip, 3 to 4 hours one way, I said, lets wait to see what the weather is like. It can still snow in March, and I don't do highway trips when it is snowing unless a emergency..

Good question. I was wondering the same thing as my mother was thinking of attending, but her third arm (my parents' Siberian Husky, Kyra) would be attached as always...if allowed of course.

Just a thought for free publicity...

WGN-TV Channel 9 does an Adopt-A-Pet segment every Fri on their 11am news show. A dog (or dogs) is brought that is up for adoption and you can promote your fundraiser. Many shelters, rescues, and clubs have used this for exposure.

Went last year with Morgan and we had a blast! We hope to make it this year as long as Morgan is doing better. Ending a false pregnancy at this time and had some minor skin allergy issues. Doing good at this time. Stopped itching so she should fill in again before the party. We would hate to miss it.
