Barry, If you can find alot of people it could still be a great deal. Check out Elk Rapids on VRBO, there is a house right on the lake here for a little cheaper than the Traverse one.
You may also be able to find a few hotels cheaper, these are just the ones I contacted.

It's too bad your family doesn't want to camp. The campground is just a couple blocks and right on a small lake. You have lake access and it's very inexpensive. The campground may even have a cabin or trailer for rent. I am not sure
...Ok, just looked at their site while typing this and it says they have cabins and onsite RV rentals..I have no idea what they are like though

Anyone feeling adventurous & looking for 1 person & 1 newf they don't know to share with, I'm looking too.....I don't need anything fancy and travel with a sleeping bag, so can squeeze in anywhere to fill up a spot

Just thought I'd get my name out there, just in case!!!!

You're the only one out there who knew I was pondering my situation and didn't know anyone to contact........but yes, I do trust you to get me 'home'. but didn't want to put the onus solely on you! :devil:

I've got a fabulous deal on embroidered T-Shirts. Short sleeve for $ 5.99, and long sleeve for $ 7.99. Now, we will want to sell them for more, so we can support a local Newf Rescue. My Question, I need a theme for the GTG...........They will say, Michigan GTG 2011 then what? ( A Newfie Head or body ) Newfie's invade Elk Lake? Keep in mind, this will be something that's embroidered on the front, breast pocket area. Any ideas?
To get them for this price, I need to order by March.
