So much heartache, just the past week, it's too much. I pray that they are all together, comforting each other, playing together, waiting until we meet them again. As we comfort each other down here.

There are more names for your list - it's awful - Kloofbear's Legend of Troy (our breeder's dog) - he passed away this week as well from bloat. He was the first Newf I ever saw. A big, beautiful, goofy sweetheart of a bear.

I'll never forget him coming out to say hello to us as we got out of our car - then he snuck into the house and attempted to drag a gigantic cardboard box outside. His breeder snagged him and told him she had to check the box for staples - he surrendered it willingly, but hovered while she checked it for dangerous bits of metal and tape - then she gave it back to him and said, "okay Troy" and he proudly dragged it out into the driveway to play with. The whole time my jaw was just on the floor. The box easily could have held a refrigerator. Hah!

Below is a picture of Troy with my Pooka and his brother Marcus, as puppies.

And one of him in the show ring at the Canadian nationals a few years ago.

It is positively heartbreaking. Godspeed to each and every bear we've lost this week. I can only hope that their souls are all together in a happy, painfree place.

I am so sorry if I've forgotten anyone. I loved your story about Troy! What a handsome boy, with personality to boot.

I am so sorry for your loss. Our time with them is never long enough.

They all hurt so much but the sudden ones seem to hurt even more. Even those I have never met touch my heart so much. Sometimes wish it wasn't so, but it is and I have never been able to change that. They give so much and love with their entire beings. How can we ever repay that?

I'd like to think of it this way...........
With all the natural disasters of late, God needed some of our Gentle Giants to help calm the souls of all the scared little children who have lost their lives. Zeke was great at calming fears, and I bet the rest of your babies were good at it as well. I'm so lucky to of been able to spend time with Zeke. From the frist time we met, I knew he was special. God, had a plan.....................

Piggyluv and Mudji, Troy. The list seems to go on and on.

With each new name posted in the Rainbow Bridge my heart breaks all over again.

Abbey, you must be right, there must be some greater plan taking place.

However, I pray not to see another name for a very, very, long time.

It has been heartbreaking lately. I keep tearing up as I read all the beautiful tributes and look at the pictures of the gorgeous Newfies. If there IS a rainbow bridge, they're having a joyful reunion, I'm sure.

Another Newf Net member recently lost the love of her life. Bailey was the most wonderful, beautiful girl, I will never forget her sweet nature and 'life is good' attitude. Please keep Leslie in your thoughts and prayers, she is having a most difficult time after losing Bailey just a couple of weeks ago. This was posted on Newf Net a few years ago. I'm so, so sorry, Leslie. :hugs:

And Teri, that was beautiful. :hugs:

Lately I just don't want to read some of newf.net such as Rainbow Bridge, or when the subject indicates a major health issue. As morbid as it might sound, I am expecting to be reading Hugo is at the bridge too every time I log in.

That doesn't even count the people who are not on newf.net. As I am walking Snuffles for his night walk, I was talking to a local area newf owning friend who lost her senior lady with in the last month as well as her favorite cat. And then I think about how sad I am going to be when Snuffles' time comes and I start to tear up.

In the 11 years I've been on NN I can't remember a period of time where we lost so, so many so close together. It's strange and wonderful how we can sit at our computer and read of someone's loss who we haven't even met (although some have) and cry our eyes out. It's a testament to our wonderful dogs that we care so much about, who we come together for.

As Leonard said, I almost dread coming on here lately. I hadn't read about Miss Lucy leaving, but saw her name in the title of Richie's post. I just sat and gasped and stared at my computer. I just even noticed that Richie couldn't even fit all of the names of those that have gone ahead in the title of his post. There must have been some great need up above for so many of our fur kids to be called home. I can just imagine the party going on up there!! I'm going to try and think of that and all of the good times they have brought us all.

Hugs and prayers for peace to everyone who has lost. We all know how you are feeling.

I wanted to add Jacqui's Saska to the list of Newfs that have passed away in the last few weeks. He was my Murphy's half brother and only 7 years old. :(

Well said, Lori.

Leonard, I think that just makes you love and appreciate Snuffles all the more.
