My Water Lillies

I love water lillies and my garden is full of tubs and ponds to keep them all in. I was with my camera because they are starting to bloom when suddenly I noticed a few other "water lillies" nodding in the sun.....

Wake up silly lillies!

I have very large fantail goldfish (they are about 10 inches long and big around as an eggplant!) They are in an inground pond with so much fencing and weights on it you cant even see them! The stupid racoons go fishing otherwise. In the winter I keep them in a 300 gallon pond I built indoors so then I can watch them and enjoy them.

Can you post photos of the indoor pond??? I would love to see that!

Your furry water lillies look very happy :)

I dont have a pic handy of the indoor pond, it is currently empty. I will take one but it is made of plywood, 8 feet long by 30 inches wide. It has a "skeleton" of 2X4s with plywood on the outside and another layer of plywood on the inside. I then lined it with vinyl pond liner. It is 2 1/2 feet high.

Ahhh...well, I could tell you some stories:uhoh2: But basically, my Golden learns really fast what displeases me and will never do those things again. (he used to jump in and fish out large rocks he would play with!)He is a joy and has always been SO good! Now the Newf....well....he was caught swimming in it once and then graduated to just sticking his whole head in under water to watch fish and blow bubbles. He was adorable :sunflower:so I allowed that but "paws off!!" is a command he learned and he knows now he is not to lift a paw to the pond or jump in. Just trust and age....he rarely looks at it now that he turned 3.

Oh..forgot to say I also bought a garden fence I used to keep around it to be sure!

I love waterlillis too, and we have 1/2 wine tubs and some antique bathtubs filled with water waterlilies and goldfish/koi. Tessa loves fishing for them and so do the kingfishers. Beautiful pictures, love the dogs in the pond :icon_cool:
