Good luck! I know lots about that state, let's hear where you are going and then we'll tell you the hot spots. (And low spots, too!)

Used to live in Bethesda, and Silver Spring, MD. Used to go to my Uncles Place on the Bay to fish, and have fun.

Hahaha, I didn't notice the name either.

Donna -- Thanks, we're just a couple of miles north of the Jacksonville/Phoenix area if you're familiar with that. We like it...rural with lots of horse farms, hiking, etc.

Yes, I was born and raised in Howard County, Maryland, back in the day where the population was 18,000 for the entire county. (Yes, that's true). So I am returning home, but living in Harford County near the PA line. Reminds me a little of the place I grew up as a kid, with lots of farms and white fences..... After travelling around the world for the DoD, it's time to come home, eat some crabs, take the Newfs to the beach, and watch some real lacrosse......

Welcome Home! And welcome to Harford County. Darlington, by any chance (or Dublin...or Jarretsville)? Gotta be nearby. That's where we moved to the ES from....Darlington. We were right down the road from the Conowingo Dam. Paddrick Road. LOL

Harford County (around Bel Air and that 95 interchange) has gotten SO busy and crowded in the past 10 years. It's downright amazing - and kind of depressing. The northern/northeastern areas of the county are still beautiful tho. Good thing is...you're not far from anything...even if you ARE situated in the middle of rolling hills.

One thing to listen for this winter...when the school closing/delays are announced (even if you don't have kids)...the difference between the "Hereford zone" and the rest of the county. Everyone else will have an hour or two delay...they'll be closed for sure! hahaha They're in a valley....and get dumped on big time, compared to the rest of the county. Kinda weird.

Enjoy the crabs, LAX, all the water.....oh and the oysters. It's now getting very close to oyster time in MD. And fall festival time! It's just beautiful there in the autumn. You arrived at a great time of year!

Oh...and you and your family (especially dogs) are very welcome to come on down to the OC Get Together...it's on Halloween weekend. If you're interested, PM me, and I'll fill you in!

I know where that is! You're a bit NW of where we lived. You're definitely in the country, but honestly, not far from anything. 15 mins to Bel Air (the main business/retail area of Harford County which has everything you need, believe me) ... an hour to Baltimore. DC, Philly and NY aren't too far either.
