Update on Molly and her Kidney Failure.
Thankfully its so far so good its been 3 months now since she was diagnosed and she is doing very well. We have her on a strict regime of homeopathic medicines, dietary supplements, ACE inhibitors, phosphorous binders and she gets a litre of Sub-Q fluids about every 5 days. Her diet is very specific as well but she loves that she gets a stew of low salt stock, beef pieces, butternut squash, sweet potatoes, turnip, carrots, parsnips, chicken, and egg whites. Her weight is stable right now but shes still under her old weight. She is most importantly of all though very happy and not sick, no vomiting, no bad poops etc and she is well able to walk and roll in the grassy fields near home as per usual. Her diva-ness has increased and she is spoilt even more than before she now spends her evenings cuddling with us on the couch and she camps out on our bed at any given opportunity also. We are very happy that she is doing so well and we’re taking and enjoying every day we have with her one day at a time but we’re also aware of the fact that her condition will get worse and go downhill at some point and that’s still as horrible a feeling as it was 3 months ago. We can only be thankful that the steps we’ve implemented over the last 3 months have worked so well and we’ve managed to keep the tide at bay so far. It’s a horrible place to be in but we try not to think of the hurt to come but rather be happy with the time we have her and make her life as happy a place as possible and a celebration of her for as long as we can.
PS
Dawn just text this pic to me a minute ago while I was writing this, Dawn is working from home today and when I left the house at 7am molly took my spot on the bed, shes still there now 4 hours later!
