Missing pet Ginger

I have some sad news, Ginger , our little golden retriver, has vanished , mind you she is a house pet , and only goes out in nthe fenced back yard to go to the bathroom, but yesterday morning , Chris was taking the baby next door to visit with my elderly parents, and took Ginger and Max with him , they usually wait for him at the back door, but this time Ginger left , he was only over there for about 15 minutes , Max came back home with him and the baby , but no Ginger , we are so hurt , and so puzzled to what has happened to her , dont know if she chased a deer off or if she was hit by a car and wondered into the woods , or if someone picked her up, we have put flyers out all day , and still no sign of her , we miss her greatly!, We have called all shelters with no luck. We dont know what else to do , she has absoultly vanished.

Very odd. How upsetting to not know. It sounds like some retreiver napping to me. Or perhaps she wandered off and got lost? Have you canvassed the woods yet?

I hope you get answers soon. Sending prayers that Ginger comes home soon.

We have looked everywhere , the woods where we live is very condensed, and is very large area, we have looked as far as we can , please remember us in your prayers.

Just a thought, don't know how big the town you live in is but when a friends dog disappeared, they called the police. In addition to the shelters, etc, they alerted the police so they were aware of a missing dog. That way if they are out on patrol and see a loose golden, they just might think of you. The way I look at it, it can't hurt to ask. I still am wondering if someone took her. It is very strange that she is missing but the other one is not. If she ran off, don't you think they both would have gone? Is she the type to runoff? Any dognapping in your area lately? If so, take it to the media as well.

Flyers at all the vets and catch the postman, UPS and FED EX if you can. They see everyone too. Keep searching and checking. I put flyers in the paper boxes, every other one when someone goes missing (hasn't happened for many years now thank goodness). Prayers for Ginger. Political size yard signs can be bought in blank quite cheaply. Thick magic marker info on them stuck at corners of major intersections. Make sure info lines are thick enough to be read at speed. Most people ;use a pen or something and no one can read it unless they stop which won't happen.

Prayers for Gingers return.....I too would be calling the police and any other government departments (ie Forestry) who get about. And of course all vets and shelters.
Don't call once, keep calling. it is amazing how helpful people get when they know you are really trying to find your pet.
And is Ginger Microchipped??
We have only ever lost one dog once, one of our work dogs. And I had him on flyers, radio and the TV. One of the Rangers found him and brought him home, because he said he never had someone ring him every hour about a lost dog.
I so hope you find Ginger, Ronnie

Ginger is 4 years old , is not micro chipped, we have taken the other dog Max out looking for her , no luck. We have tried most of all the above , except taslking to ups and fed x

Really hoping Ginger turns up safely. Barney, my Cocker went missing for nearly 3 days once after a seizure. We did flyers, phoned rescues etc and did door calls asking people to check barns, sheds etc. He turned up locked in a hay shed and made a full -recovery. Hoping for good news quickly for you.

I'm so sorry. This is heartbreaking. Our cat is missing too and we are so sad, not knowing where she is. I will include Ginger in my prayers along with our sweet Hun. I like the ideas of talking to the FedEx and UPS drivers, too. I call our pound every 72 hours because that is how long they have to keep an animal before them being available for adoption. I run an ad in our newspaper every few weeks. I have a waterproof sign on the main road. I know you have done all this - I will keep Ginger in my prayers.
