Just got word from the vet: hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. She likely went quickly and there was nothing we could have done. It's apparently one of those "silent killers". Healthy cat, and then gone. Just like that. I feel better for at least getting an answer. Now to contact her siblings' owners to warn them to get their cats echocardiogrammed. It's highly hereditary. Hopefully her loss won't be for nothing entirely.
:hugs: It sounds like she didn't suffer, no pain, just went to sleep. I know it doesn't make it easier for you, but you know.

so sorry for your loss and its suddenness.

however it sounds like she went quickly and pain free so in some ways a blessing . also that she was obviously well loved during her lifetime and at least now you have some answers

So sorry Kristen, I'm not much of s Cat person, but I can see this affected you my friend, and I feel your pain. At least you know and and warn the siblings families. I grieve with you.

Kristen, I am so sorry to hear this :( I too lost one of my ragdolls a couple of months ago and it was just as sudden, he too was far too young. My thoughts are with you and your family xx
