We have one coat of epoxy on Lola's sled so we thought we would test it out..
Things we learned
1. Don't put the shafts through the wrong loops like I did.
I didn't realize it until after the photos and she was unhooked.
Looking at the photos I also need to move her back and shorten the tracers I think
2. Long narrow skis don't work well in deep fluffy snow. We need 4 wide short skis instead. The narrow ones would sink and it was hard to turn. We had to turn REALLY wide. I stole the skis off my sled, we won't be using those once Jack makes the "proper" ones
3. Lastly don't let her pull it inside the garage. The scraping noise is a little scary. Once on the snow she did amazing, but the skis on the concrete did not make her too happy
Here a couple photos of my girl. Once on the snow she pulled it around like she has done it for years.
My video camera is out for service so no video until I get it back on Tuesday
You can see how the skis sunk in the fluffy snow
Lola admiring her new sled
Shafts though the wrong loops
Her new sled, will sand and put 2 more coats of epoxy on it this week
