I met Anna and Harry (Newf Friends Rescue)

[Clifford the big dog]

I went to walk Clifford at about 9:30pm tonight. I had worked hard in the yard all day and was tired and only planning to walk a couple of blocks. A little after we started I see a couple walking 2 big dogs. Clifford starts pulling and woofing. I have been working hard to get past this so try to walk on. That's when I realize it is 2 Newfs, never seen other Newfs living in our town. Once they get a little ways away and Clifford settles down we talk. I found out they rescued Anna and Harry (he now has a different name I don't remember) from Newf Friends. I started walking with them and Clifford behaved well for the most part. They are a very nice couple and only live a few blocks from me. We walked for about an hour. I'm sure we will be having more walks and play dates to come. How nice to find other Newfies in town and great to meet dogs I had seen on the Newf Friends rescue site. I did of course tell them about Newf.net and encouraged them to join.

yes i knew they lived where you live. Harry now busa was my first foster!! he went to a great couple. tell them patti says hi, and i miss harry. how was he doing???

They are both doing great. Walked with them again last night and then over to a fenced in soccer field to let them run together. Anna and Busa hadn't been anywhere off leash yet, so it was great for that. They all 3 did a little staring each other down to start with and then took off running and had a great time. Anna finally laid down so we figured that was enough and they were tired pups when we got back. Harry/ Busa is looking really good now. His coat is growing back in and they both look so nice and shiny. They are feeding Orijen which I know you feed in rescue and what I use too. Next time I will bring my camera.
Patti, I will tell them you said Hi. Wish you had told me to look for other Newfies, I didn't know we had any others in town. They are actually only a couple of blocks away.
It's amazing how much more social Clifford makes me. Without him I would have never ever gone knocking on somebody's door that I had just met one other time to see if they wanted to go walking with me.
So nice to walk with someone else who isn't concerned about all the flying drool.

oh thank you for the update!! Harry(busa) touched our hearts so much, we would have kept him in a minute if we were not at our limit!!! he was in such rough shape when he came here, from his allergies!! it makes my heart swell that he is doing so well!! please tell them hi, they are a great couple, i am so glad you met!! i would love to see pics@!!!!

It's things like this that make me love NN so much. How wonderful that you were able to get this update regarding your former foster!

Your so lucky to have other newfs in your neighborhood. We have one but the owner doesn't do much with him. Shaves him every summer and doesn't understand why we don't do the same with Morgan. Hopefully Janet P will be moving on the next street with her 2 and then we could walk together. Morgan got pretty jealous last weekend when Murphy wanted to hang with her friends. Defiantly have to work on that!
