I love Lucy in Wichita

Lucy is filling my empty nest as the last of my six children are ready to leave.

As a Newfie newby I have to ask, what to do about dewclaws? What is the answer for newfies, leave on? Take off? Any problems?

Help.

Newfs usually don't have rear dewclaws, fronts are left on. Just trim them along with the others.

Welcome! Our girls have front dewclaws and I've never seen a breed use them as much. We joke about them having "thumbs" a lot.

My Tiki, who is a wildman caught his front claw up on something & had to have it take out the next day cause it was bleeding & just hanging on by a thread; if they are super active, I would take them out if they look to be a future problem.
