..I actually have running water ! Just thought I would let you all know.. I washed clothes, took a shower, mopped the kitchen, vacuumed....oh boy..
the "Little House" thing got old...! But it was a humbling experience...everyone is fine...dogs didn't mind as much as I did of course..but they difinitely knew something was going on. Thank you all for your kind thoughts. I did take pictures along the way and will post when I get caught up.

Welcome back to the 21st century!! Glad to hear you made it through. It's tough to live without the goodies we are use to having.

It's great to have you back Julie! I can't even imagine roughing it for so long!! Camping for a weekend is one thing, but no power for a week and a half I can't even imagine!!

So glad to hear this!! We were ok but the unreal icey slide to the south started 10 miles south of us. No school there for about 8 days!! Hooray for power for you!!!

Welcome back! Glad you survived your ordeal and managed to keep your sanity and humor. Not sure I could have done that.

I don't know what your situation is Julie, but I think we could all use a few survival lessons. We had an ice storm back around December 1st. Knocked our power out on the Friday and not too long after that, the phone went as well. Our neighbours across the road came and stayed with us - Keith was dying from cancer and a myriad of other ailments. It was stay home with the oxygen and freeze :( or stay with us and keep warm. We had a real good fire going the whole time triggering the carbon monixide alarm a few time (new house, well sealed). Fortunately, I could use my stove top to cook - gas. We have a sheltered patio so I could also BBQ (man, that beer can chicken was good). And God bless my electrician (retired) husband. He was able to rig up the generator so we didn't lose any food in the fridge or freezers during the day and then run the sump pump overnight. A lot of people around here had their basements flooded. We even had TV and light. We got our power and phone back the following Monday so we didn't have to deal with the outage for very long, thank goodness. I am just very grateful it wasn't a repeat of the big ice storm of 1998 that ripped through eastern Ontario and western Quebec. Glad you survived and welcome back.

Welcome back, Julie! What a long haul that was. Were you without water the whole time? That happens to us, too. When the power is out, the well is also out.

Glad you made it through OK. Bet it felt good to take a shower and get cleaned up.

Can't wait to see the pics.

Oh, that is such good news Julie! I almost pulled my hair out but I don't know if I could have made it through 2 weeks! A true Survivor!! I am impressed! Glad to hear all is well. Mary Kay ;)

Two whole weeks!! We lost power for 1 week after Hurricane Charlie blasted through our area in '05 and then for 2 days with Rita, or was it Wilma. What a pain in the you know what! Luckily we weren't under snow...just 95 degrees and 98% humidity! Wasn't a generator to be found...of course. Cooked everything we could on the propane grill so we didn't lose the entire freezer full. Glad to hear you made it through okay!
