One of the good things to come out of a crisis is finding out how many true friends you really have. Glad you have help. Peter is a knight in shining armour.

Hi Jen... I'll be thinking of you and Murphy on Monday. I'm sure your big guy will come through this with flying colours... I expect this will be much harder on you than Murph. Peter will undoubtedly help put your mind at ease. Ten years ago he came to my rescue when my beloved first Newf, Webster, was in crisis. I posted a message on Newf-L concerning Webster, Peter replied, and 30 minutes later he was at my door.
His vast knowledge partnered with his devotion to the breed, his compassion and empathy for their two-legged companions, and innate selfless nature is both humbling and inspiring. Inside that soft spoken man beats the heart of a Newfoundland dog.

I just sent this email to my dear friends Patti and Sandra.. I could probably use all your prayers as well..

So.. tomorrow is the big day.. I'm dropping him off shortly after 8am, and have done as much preparation as I can think of. Peter is coming down around 5pm for some moral support and pizza, and we expect to get Murph around 630.
Adam is staying overnight the first night.
The area you see in the picture is where he will be doing his rehab. Rubber mats laid down and a foam bed that Nana has sewed covers for. Guess he will have to have the cone on his head which I'm not sure how that is going to work. I nailed down carpet remnants on the deck so he won't slip..
Anyway, I'm not sure what to expect but am going to try to stay positive.. even though I am somewhat nauseous.
I know you guys will be there in spirit with me.
I'll keep you posted
Jen

Good luck Murphy for a good outcome. The love & support that you are getting will make the recovery a lot easier to bear. Jen, keep the chin up, I know it is hard, we love the big lugs, & we worry about them just as much as our human kids, sometimes even more.

I've been at the regional for several days and am just learning of today's surgery date and the terrific support from NNers. The support is heart-warming. With all this positive energy swirling about, I know things will go smoothly. Hugs to Murphy and you today. May your spirit be balanced! :yinyang:
