Hello all! We are new owners of our newfie, Raven Hagrid. So happy to be on this site. Currently, our family lives in Oklahoma, but we're hoping to move to the Northeast US sooner than later, so that our baby can enjoy the snow and water! We purchased her when she was 4 months old at 45lbs. She's now 8 months old and 91lbs and stands 24" at her shoulders. But to our family she still seems so tiny compared to other newfs. Unfortunately, Raven spends a lot of time at the vet for tummy issues. So far we have discovered that she can't have wheat or turkey products and are currently beginning to limit chicken. Happy to be here! Hope these photos work, if not I'll keep trying!

Hello from central Kentucky! What a beautiful girl! Our girl Siri is named after Sirius Black - gotta love the Harry Potter names!

 from Southern California! Welcome, you will find so much knowledge and support here. Raven is beautiful. I know about tummy troubles. We switched Poppy to Wellness Whitefish & Sweet Potato and it really fixed a lot of her tummy issues. She was on Canidae before, but her gas cleared the house!

We are going to need to make a switch. We feed Fromm's Large Puppy and she did well, but since Christmas, she has had gastroenteritis. No parasites, no giardia or coccidia (even though we also have chickens). The doctor thinks that it is the food and wants to prescribe Hills, but it is turkey based and turkey makes her vary sick.

We will go and try the Wellness whitefish!

Let us know what you think of the Wellness whitefish. It works very well here. For the most part, you won't find many of us feeding Large Breed Puppy... it is thought that our pups need to grow slowly, to be able to support their weight. They still reach the size they are supposed to, they just do it more slowly. What did your breeder suggest?

I personally would NOT feed Hill's Science Diet... I don't think it's very good food...it's just the one the vet knows about. Follow the money...WHO gives to the vet schools and programs? What better advertising? Think: drug companies and hospitals. Something to think about....
