Hello all! I am waiting patiently for my new pup to be born and so excited to bring her home! Should I be at all worried that she won't like my cocker spamiel (male) and chihuahua mix (female)? Everything I've researched and people ive talked to said no but I just need some advice. Thanks! BTW...love the site!

Welcome! When I first brought Emma home about a month ago, my Boxer and Boston Terrier loved her! (sometimes too much) Now at 40-pounds and wanting to play constantly... not so much. lol.. They actually need a break from time to time from all the "love" and "attention" she gives them. She just doesn't understand how they could not want to play at 5:30 am..lol

Congrats on the new pup, but I don't know how you're managing the "patient" part. I was anything but when I was waiting for my Moose!

I would keep a close eye on your newf with your little dogs - sometimes these bears just don't know their size...but they'll learn to get along. Here's photo proof of my newf at four months with all my parents dogs, and my chiweenie, and a cat (and maybe, just maybe, a bag of jerky to bribe them all with).

Can't wait to see your new pup! Do you know when she's due?

She's due on/around Christmas! I'm sure that will help with coming up with an appropriate name. The only reason I am patient is because I'm in the process of replacing the carpet with much more large dog friendly hardwood (scratch resistant of course...not that I'm terribly concerned).

You'll need to invest in some area rugs/runners for that new flooring...these big guys have an awful hard time with them! My girl actually wears traction booties in the house, since she has such a difficult time getting up off of the hardwood.

The pups were born a few weeks ago but the owner/breeder was ill and family was covering. I get to pick her up at the end of January!!!

Welcome from Newf Orleans. When Obie came home as a puppy, I had a 10 year old mobility challenged Corgi. She loved him when he was her size (that didn't last long!) and they played well together. As he grew, she just put him in his place and ceased to play with him, but they still got along. Congratulations on your new addition.. hard to be patient when you know there's a wiggly little bundle of soft newf fur coming your way. We demand pictures!

Just got off the phone with the breeder....again. She is a black female. Her mom weighs 140 and her dad is 150! Isn't that larger than normal for a female?
