This message came through on Newf-L earlier today. If its some kind of hoax, great. Better that than what this e-mail says.

"I'm writing this with tears in my eyes, I came down here to United Kingdom for a short vacation unfortunately i was mugged at the park of the hotel where i stayed,all cash,credit card and cell were stolen off me but luckily for me i still have my passports with me.

I've been to the embassy and the Police here but they're not helping issues at all and my flight leaves in less than 3hrs from now but am having problems settling the hotel bills and the hotel manager won't let me leave until i settle the bills.

I'm freaked out at the moment."

Ok, I just got a message saying that Rhonda's e-mail got hacked and the message is a hoax. Thank goodness. Rhonda, I'm breathing a huge sigh of relief.

Her FB page is gone too. She's trying to get it all straightened out. She was "hacked".

Bummer about getting hacked. Yeah, I was surprised there wasn't a request for $$$$. That would have been a sure tip off that it was a hoax.

Arrghh....Facebook! It's a great way to keep in touch but it's a cesspool. I was hacked last week and all my email contacts were offered a 'deal' on viagra. It was pretty embarrassing when gentle acquaintences reminded me they were not discussing their private health affairs with anyone.

Poor Tina was on that list, too.

Best advice I can give re: facebook is to have a different email/password there than anywhere else.

I got that email too, I was so stunned. I'm glad she's ok, except for the stupid hacking thing!

And change your password on FB regularly. That helps too.

I also got hit with the Viagra spam sending email a while back. And that email account is NOT linked to FB. It's a Yahoo account...separate from the one I use for FB.

I have gotten several of those from various people....I just assumed after the second one it was a hoax...It did ask to send money..but nowhere to send it ??

I know it's a real bummer being hacked and all and hopefully the worst that happens as a result isn't real bad. I'm just happy to know that everything is ok - chickens and all.

I got the email but already knew that one like that was floating around. My email got hacked into and sent a link to viagra to everyone in my address book. Then a friend told me about the email she had received from "her sister". It was one like the one that "came from Rhonda". So, I have a new, personal email account, deleted all of my contacts, and will use that old email for junk email.

I got the Hoax too.IF YO GET IT DO NOT CLICK ON THE LINK JUST DELETE IT.
You click the link and your setting your self up to be hacked.

I got a similar 'hoax' email from my niece telling me she was stranded in the UK.
Since she is a book editor, the tip-off was all the mis-spelled words in the email. :lol:
