Hi everyone! My name's Hannah and my husband and I just got our Newf pup about two months ago. He grew up with two Newfs, but this is my first. We couldn't be more in love. We named her Annabel Lee after the poem by Edgar Allan Poe.

I wanted to join here to have a place to talk to and learn from people who love Newfs. I belong to a few other dog forums, too, but I really wanted a place that was breed specific. We're working on joining our regional club at the moment, and we hope to do some obedience, water trials, or therapy work (whatever Annabel likes best!). Thanks for having me.

I'm not sure if you're aware, but the largest Newf dog show (the US Nationals) are being held in Lancaster PA in 2014. It's an amazing opportunity to connect with other Newf owners and see the best of the best!

Thanks for the welcome! That second pictures is one of my absolute favorites. I have it in my office next to a copy of my avatar. It was on our first real road trip with her when we went to see my in-laws over the 4th of July (Actually, right near you, charlieinnj!)

As for the Nationals, we will definitely be there in 2014. I had wanted to go in 2013 (we didn't have Annabel quite yet, butI still love meeting Newf people), but just couldn't make it happen. With 2014 being much closer, I'm already planning on taking the vacation days

I've become a little obsessed with Annabel and the breed in general, and I'm really fascinated with shows. Annabel's on a limited AKC registration, so we're not doing conformation, but I've been reading as much as I can about the breed standard and I'd love to watch a conformation show. And other AKC events. And meet as many Newfs as possibly...
