Today certainly doesn't FEEL very celebratory, but it is! My boy Gabriel is NINE years old today!
Some of you may not know that my boy was diagnosed with SAS when he was 2 1/2. He has a grade four murmur. Then about three years ago he developed CHF. I honestly never expected him to survive this long.
He is controlled by meds and doing okay.
About two months ago I made a radical decision to shave him. He can no longer get on the grooming table and with all my hip/spine issues I can't sit on the floor long enough to do an effective groom. His coat was getting bad.
He LOVES it! For the first two weeks he just danced and pranced around here like the king of Mardi Gras! He has calmed down a lot but I can tell he is still much happier. I have even backed off on the pain meds I was giving him for his arthritis.
He is just a happy go lucky naked little old man!
Unfortunately the heat index here is 103 right now, and it was in the eighties by 7 AM so he did not get to go anywhere today.
He got his very own can of salmon this morning. He and the girls each got a mini cupcake (with sprinkles) to celebrate.
And I got a couple of great pics of him earlier this afternoon, but Photobucket is being most uncooperative....I hadn't used it in a good while. It won't let me copy the links to the photos.
I just wanted to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my boo boo dog. I love you sooooo much little boy!
