Not all the Acana is OK. Have to check the calcium/phospherous level on the bags. I've fed some to puppy but not others until older.Acana should be ok but dont feed puppy , feed adult food as it helps to slow their growing rate and minimises potential issues. We fed Max puppy food to start with and when he had rapid growth and joint issues we switched immediately to adult food and his growing slowed but the damage was done by then.
Have you considered RAW? There are pre-made formula's such as Bravo, and Oma's thsat give you the correct balance of Meat/Organ/Bone/VegiI'm having a hard time finding a LBP food I feel comfortable feeding to my girl when it comes to Cal./Phos. content. I would really like to go either Orijen or Acana, but I'm hesitant because their Cal./Phos. seem rather high. Does anyone have experience with these brands? Or have others they would recommend?
Actually I did decide to switch to Nature's Variety: Instinct frozen raw chicken formula. Not all their raw formulas were appropriate for Newfie puppy needs, but the Chicken and Rabbit formulas are. I'll look at Bravo and Oma, too. Thanks for the recommendation.Have you considered RAW? Thanks, I am definitely finding that to be true, as so many "Large Breed" formulas just aren't the right balance. The breeder fed Eukanuba LBP. Needless to say, Admiral switched off that immediately.Uh FYI "Giant Breed" not "Large Breed" Giant Breed dogs have different needs than Large Breeds. What did your breeder feed?
Is it the grain free variety? Can you post the nutrition information chart from the bag? What about Applaws LBP? This is what iam feeding bernie now
I found an ingredients list online, they look pretty good. Grain-free. But I don't see a guaranteed analysis so it's hard to say without seeing that. What about Applaws LBP? This is what iam feeding bernie now
